[…] […] […] You had once said to me that you do not care what I believe about you. I suppose I will invoke the same here. Either you believe me or you don’t, but your belief or lack thereof changes nothing for me.

I will only say that life is not fair. There is no point in expecting it to be, and I do not. But that does not mean we should not do what we can to make it fair for others.
